Invested Love is our mentoring program designed to reach girls ages 9 – 24 by providing resources, promoting healthy discussions, developing leaders and overall celebration of womanhood through our support groups and mentor – led girls clubs. According to cdc.gov, sexual violence among young girls in Eswatini is common; one third of the girls experience some form of sexual violence. Girls in Eswatini are vulnerable and they experience significant mental and physical health issues.
Unfortunately, this number is much higher as many refused to report what has happened due to family and community scrutiny. Deeply wounded and scarred from rejection and abuse, many women of all ages have accepted and settled with the mundane, not recognizing the potential and beauty that lies within. Invested Love works with empowering mentors and young ladies to be all that they can in be in Christ through positive reinforcement and a strategic approach to curriculum. We want girls to walk away feeling empowered but also knowing how to cope with life obstacles.
How it works
We have found that many women all over the world have a passion to help the next generation of girls. Invested Love is based on Titus 2:3-5 which instructs us to teach younger women what we’ve learned about the Lord’s plan for lives, growth and maturity. We seek out those who are interested in or already serving in a large or small capacity and then we invest in those ladies so they can invest in others. These ladies must first LEARN to love themselves, APPLY that love and then TEACH OTHERS how to love themselves well. We provide monthly mentor meetings to reach our mentors and potential mentors. Those ladies then go out and help host girl clubs of their choosing. We strive to intentionally develop friendships among women of different generations. We hope to inspire and motivate by providing practical and helpful tools to help empower women empower other women.
“And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.” Luke 1:45
In short…we are a network of women sharing resources!
